Wedding Season is a Star Original for Disney+; a genre-busting escapist romance about two people who shouldn’t be together, but who can’t stay away from one another.

The eight-episode series is produced by Dancing Ledge Productions (The Salisbury Poisonings, New Pope) with Chris Carey (Les Miserables, Apple Tree Yard), Laurence Bowen (The Eichmann Show, Delhi Crime) and Toby Bruce (The Salisbury Poisonings), serving as Executive Producers. Wedding Season is produced in association with Jax Media (Russian Doll) with Lilly Burns (Russian Doll, Search Party), Brooke Posche (Russian Doll, Search Party) and Tony Hernandez also taking Executive Producer responsibilities. The series is penned by up-and-coming screenwriting talent Oliver Lyttelton (Cheaters) also an executive producer and will be directed by George Kane (Timewasters, Flack, Crashing).

Rosa Salazar (Brand New Cherry Flavour, Alita: Battle Angel) stars as Katie, a picture-perfect bride who we meet on her wedding day surrounded by the dead bodies of her new husband and every member of his family. Gavin Drea (Valhalla, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) is confirmed to star opposite Rosa Salazar as her on-again, off-again lover Stefan.

In addition to Drea, Callie Cooke (The Stranger, Rules of the Game), Bhav Joshi (Deadwater Fell, Vigil), Ioanna Kimbook (Inside No. 9, Bitter Wheat (Garrick theatre)) and Omar Baroud (Baptiste, The Innocents) join as Stefan’s close-knit group of friends who together, are navigating the Wedding Season summer packed with a seemingly never-ending procession of engagement drinks, stag-dos, hen-dos, and weddings.

Jade Harrison (Foundation, The Stranger) and Jamie Michie (Back To Life, Game of Thrones) star as measured DCI Metts and volatile DI Donahue, the police detectives charged with investigating the murders of Katie’s husband, Hugo Delaney, played by George Webster (Finding Alice, Industry), and his family.

The police think her lover Stefan did it. Stefan thinks Katie did it. Katie thinks her ex-husband did it. And no one knows for sure what the truth is… Wedding Season is a fast-paced, superbly entertaining action thriller.
